Bullet removed from shooting victim
Gunshot victim Richard Gaglio was airlifted to Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, on Saturday and underwent surgery yesterday to remove a bullet from his chest.
It's understood that doctors are pleased with his continuing progress.
A week ago, family members were told that 62-year-old Mr. Gaglio had little chance of survival as he lay in a coma in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after being shot in the chest from close range after two men burst into his Hinson Lane home in Smith's following a poker game among friends.
It was also reported he had suffered extensive brain damage.
However, throughout last week he amazed doctors by continuing to improve after coming out of the coma, although he remained in "critical but stable" condition.
His wife, Mary, is with him at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
