Car ends up in Seymour Pond
they were travelling veered off the Middle Road in Southampton and landed top down in Seymour Pond.
A Fire Services spokesman said it is suspected that the wet road caused the driver to lose control of his Mitsubishi Lancer station wagon which toppled down the 10-foot embankment near Barnes Corner.
He said the men managed to get out of the car without assistance. When three vehicles and 12 personnel from the Southampton, Hamilton, and Navy fire services arrived around 7 p.m., they found the car lying upside down in the nature reserve pond.
The car, which was a write-off, was removed from the pond and towed away.
The fire spokesman said the driver of the car received slight abrasions to his arm and his passenger was just "shook up a bit''.
Both men were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by a friend.
STABBING SENDS WOMAN TO KEMH CRM Stabbing sends woman to KEMH An 18-year-old woman was sent to hospital after she was stabbed by another woman at a Hamilton Parish residence on Friday night.
A Police spokesperson said yesterday the stabbing took place as a result of a fight involving the two women at a home on Cottage Hill in Bailey's Bay.
The Paget resident received stab wounds to her abdomen and arm during the incident and was in stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Enquiries are continuing, the spokesperson said.

Hotel occupancy tax for the month of March 1992 also must be paid by today.
There is a penalty for late payment.
Payments may be made to the cashiers on the ground floor of the Government Administration Building on Parliament Street in Hamilton or mailed to the Tax Commissioner's Office, PO Box HM 1374, Hamilton HM FX, to arrive no later than today.
All employers and self-employed people must register with the Tax Commissioner's Office for tax purposes. Anyone who fails to register will be guilty of an offence.
PEMBROKE MAN FINED FOR COKE CTS Pembroke man fined for coke A 34-year-old Pembroke man was fined $200 yesterday after admitting possessing cocaine and drug equipment.
Carl Darrell, of Middle Town Drive, pleaded guilty to both charges in Magistrates' Court.
Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Police found Darrell in a derelict house in the Middle Town area last December.
He said Darrell dropped a hand-made pipe when he saw Police, saying: "I did nothing wrong. You've got to find me holding it''.
The pipe was retrieved and .04 grams of free-base cocaine which was 90 percent pure was found.
"I would just like to apologise to the court for wasting time,'' Darrell said before he was fined $100 on each charge. "I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.'' CANNABIS COST $100 CTS Pembroke resident Richard Harrison Trott was yesterday fined $100 in Magistrates' Court for possessing cannabis.
The court heard that 26-year-old Trott, of Tulo Lane, appeared nervous when Police visited the Roberts Avenue area on January 20.
A group of males were gathered together and officers' attention was drawn to Trott who appeared nervous and dropped something down a wall cavity, Insp.
Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said.
Police retrieved the object which was a yellow pay-type envelope, containing .31 grams of cannabis.
