The writer will be named as part of a "Night of Stars'' held as part of the library's fifth anniversary celebrations.

North Hall Lecture Theatre will be the venue for the event, which includes teacher, actress, playwright and producer Pat Pogson and storyteller and recent youth librarian Florenz Maxwell.

Also taking part in the event, which starts at 6 p.m., will be Ahmed ElAmin, a business and technology writer at The Royal Gazette , lawyer Marc Telemaque and local musician George Symonds.

The official launch of the library's new computer system will be held tomorrow and the winner of the "name the computer'' competition will be announced.

Demonstrations of the new computer system will take place on Friday and Saturday.
