Cyclist suffers broken leg in collision

A woman broke her leg when her motorcycle collided with the back of a parked truck.The accident took place in My Lord's Bay Road, Hamilton Parish, at around 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday.A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: "The rider, a 39-year-old Hamilton Parish woman, negotiated a bend and collided with the rear of a parked black truck. As a result she sustained a broken left leg and a laceration to her left ankle. She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment."

A KEMH spokeswoman described the woman's condition as "stable".

The truck was unoccupied at the time of the accident, and despite extensive damage to the motorcycle, it was not damaged.

Burglars take laptop, camera

Burglars struck two homes in Douglas Drive, Smith's, on Tuesday.

Among the items taken were an iPod specially modified for a child with autism.

The properties were broken into between 8.25 a.m. and 4.45 p.m. while the occupiers were out.

A grey and black HP laptop, pink Olympus digital camera and white Apple iPod with speakers, were stolen from one house. Burglars took a black and silver iPod for an autistic child, an iPod Shuffle, HP laptop, cash and personal items from the other house.

A Bermuda Police Spokesman said: "Inquiries into this incident are underway."

Also on Tuesday, burglars broke into a house in Lulworth Lane, Pembroke, stealing a 42 in Samsung flatscreen television.
