Dr. Kevin Brown in court in LA
A woman has claimed a doctor who is the son of Premier Ewart Brown touched her inappropriately on a visit to his practice.
The 20-year-old said Kevin Antario Brown ran his hands along her body as in a caress and suggested she might benefit from having an older man in her life.
She said she felt violated and reported the incident to her mother, who then called the police.
The woman referred to as Dominique H., made the claims at the Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday on the first day of a preliminary hearing into charges against Brown.
The 37-year-old faces 33 felony counts, including alleged acts against an undercover police officer and a 15-year-old.
The charges include forcible rape, a lewd act upon a child, sexual battery and sexual exploitation by a physician.
If convicted, Brown a general practitioner at Crenshaw Expo Medical Centre and the eldest of the Premier's four sons, could face a life sentence.
The judge at the preliminary court hearing will hear accounts from other witnesses before deciding whether there is enough evidence to commit Brown to trial. The Premier's son is currently on bail set at $4 million.
