Police were patrolling Front Street when they saw Plant standing by the main flagpole holding a beer bottle.
"When he saw the Police, Plant placed the bottle under a hedge,'' Insp. Duffy said.
"When Police told Plant to pick up the bottle and put it in the trash he replied: "I'll put it in the trash but I'll drink it in front of you first.'' Police then arrested Plant, who told them he was going to "plead the Fifth Amendment'' because in his country he could do whatever he wanted.
When Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis asked Plant if he had anything to say, he replied: "I got out of a vehicle on Front Street. I did not see a trash can so I placed the bottle in the hedge. When the Police approached me and asked if I would put the bottle in the trash, I asked if I could finish it first. They did not respond.'' STABBED BOYFRIEND CTS Stabbed boyfriend A 40-year-old Pembroke woman stabbed her boyfriend in the stomach and slashed his car tyres after an acrimonious break-up, Magistrates' Court heard yesterday.
Carla B. Eve of King Street pleaded guilty to the wilful and unlawful damage of two tyres and unlawful wounding.
Police prosecutor, Insp. Peter Duffy, told the court that on July 3, Gregory Bridgewater was at the bus terminal using a pay phone.
"While he was on the phone, he saw Eve go to his parked car and puncture two of his tyres,'' Insp. Duffy said. "After doing so, she got on her bike to ride off. "Bridgewater caught up to Eve and knocked her off her bike. While he was standing over her, Eve reached up and stabbed Bridgewater in the abdomen with the ice pick she used to puncture the tyres.'' Bridgewater was later treated at the hospital.
That evening, Eve was arrested. Insp. Duffy said she admitted the charges which, she said, followed the break-up of their relationship.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis bailed Eve at $400 until the reading of a social inquiry report on August 17.

Carol L Wharton, 45, of North Cote Lane pleaded guilty to the charge. Police Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that at 8 p.m. on July 8 Police on duty outside the airport Police station heard Wharton swearing.
After they approached her she swore at them. Police noticed she was intoxicated.
When Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis asked if she had anything to say, Wharton replied: "I wish to apologise to the Court. I do know better.'' DRINK FINE CTS Drink fine Drinking liquor in public while sitting on a wall cost a 17-year-old Sandys man $100 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Dennis DeCosta admitted drinking in a public place.
Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that on July 11 at 6.05 p.m., Police spotted DeCosta sitting on a wall on Cricket Lane in Sandys holding a bottle of beer.
DeCosta was arrested and taken to the Somerset Police Station. GAS LEAK FIR Four firefighters and one vehicle responded to a report of a gas cylinder leak in a Scenic Lane, Southampton home on Monday evening.
A small hole was discovered at the base of the cylinder. Firefighters disconnected the cylinder and moved it to a safe area.
