The Family Centre has received $40,000 from the Bank of Butterfield to help families in crisis.

The donation will be going to the charity's triage counselling service. The only one of its kind on the Island, it gives families immediate assistance through counselling and referral support, rather than putting them on a waiting list.

The donation was accepted by Family Centre's executive director Martha Dismont, who commended the bank for its commitment to helping families in need.
