Fire on cruise liner

Lt. Jon Thompson of the Bermuda Fire Service said 33 firefighters in 11 vehicles -- one from the new Clearwater Station, two from St. George's, seven from Central station and one from Port Royal --
engine room yesterday.
Lt. Jon Thompson of the Bermuda Fire Service said 33 firefighters in 11 vehicles -- one from the new Clearwater Station, two from St. George's, seven from Central station and one from Port Royal -- responded to the call around 11.30 a.m.
The fire was contained to the engine room and quickly extinguished.
Lt. Thompson said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
When contacted yesterday, the ship's agent, John S. Darrell Ltd., refused to comment on the incident.
