prison sentence in Magistrates' Court this week.

Eugene H. Scott, 65, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to committing an indecent act on Front Street on Sunday.

It was his fourth conviction for related offences since October of 1991, the court was told.

Prosecuting, Police Insp. Peter Duffy said complainants approached Police shortly after 8 p.m. and said a man was masturbating in the doorway of a Front Street shop.

Police then caught Scott in the act, he said.

On October 18, 1991, Scott pleaded guilty to committing an indecent act and received a two-month prison sentence, Insp. Duffy said. On December 9, 1991, he admitted to indecent exposure and was sentenced to three months in prison.

Then, on August 17, 1992, he admitted to committing an indecent act and received another three-month term.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis said: "I don't think there's much I can do but send you to prison for four months.''
