Prospect Secondary School for Girls.

The building houses several sections of the Police Service which had been scattered through their Prospect HQ.

These include the training school and driving school, the Outward Bound programme, the Community and Media Relations Department, the Crime Prevention Unit and the Police Cadet School.

Chief Inspector Jonathan Smith said a $500,000 revamp of the building had been carried out once the Police took it over.

And, as well as allowing different Police operations to come under one roof, the building opened up new space for a library and a computer training room, he said.

In addition, it meant trainees could learn in a place "more conducive to creating a positive learning environment''.

"We are also looking to expand our ability to train,'' said Chief Insp.

One idea was for Government Immigration inspectors to train in the building, he added.

They would be able to learn about preparing files and arrest procedures.

Chief Insp. Smith said Police hoped to further expand their headquarters by taking over a nearby former school gymnasium. But the future of this building remained unclear.
