Free opportunity to learn about pursuing a career as a physician
A free presentation for students interested in becoming physicians is planned for next week.
The Bermuda Medical Students' Society (BMSS) is to host the event as part of its aim to "provide opportunities, advice and support" to medical students.
The presentation 'So You Want to Be a Doctor?' offers persons interested in becoming a physician the chance to hear about the process from those currently working their way toward a medical degree.
"Becoming a physician is a long and tedious journey but a wonderful career," said BMSS chair Alisha Gabriel. "We want to help make the journey easier by providing advice and encouragement to young people on the Island who have already decided to go into medicine or who are thinking about this career choice.
"We hope anyone with an interest in becoming a physician will attend the presentation on 16 August and hear directly from Bermudian students and doctors already on their way."
The presentation will take place on Monday at 5.30 p.m. in the first floor conference room at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Students planning to attend must confirm by e-mail to bermymss@gmail.com, or on Facebook (Bermuda Medical Students' Society).
