Govt. starts E-Waste programme Saturday
All electronic waste can be dropped off at the new recycling plant at the Government quarry on Saturday for E-Waste Recycling Drop-Off Day.
E-Waste is the term used to describe electronic waste including computers, printers, cell phones, televisions, monitors, stereo equipment, small appliances such as toasters and hair dryers, personal audio players (iPods), or any electronic or electrical device containing circuit boards.
The E-Waste recycling programme is being initiated to reduce the potential environmental impact in Bermuda related to the disposal of these materials and also to help recycling of these materials overseas.
The initiative complements the current T.A.G. (Tin, Aluminium and Glass) kerbside blue bag-recycling programme, recycling of household air conditioners, and recycling of household and vehicular batteries already in place as components of Bermuda's comprehensive waste management system.
All E-Waste can be dropped off at the plant from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. For further information or for commercial deliveries please call 747 3024.
