Hurricane Earl is not a threat to Bermuda but will pass by the Island on Thursday.

According to the Bermuda Weather Service, Earl is expected to pass 436 nautical miles to the west of the Island.

Its closest point will be at noon.

Weather Service director Mark Guishard said: "[It] looks to me like there isn't much of a story here. Earl is not even forecast to come close enough to be called a potential threat to Bermuda.

"If there is a change in the threat status, we'll be sure to let you know."
