Award winning actor LeVar Burton has been in Bermuda to direct the latest Tourism commercial.

Over the past three years, the Bermuda Department of Tourism (BDOT) has used a variety of advertising methods and campaigns to showcase Bermuda.

And according to BDOT officials, there has been a positive feedback from consumers who have described the campaigns as "engaging and motivating" reasons to visit Bermuda.

In last year's commercial, Mr. Burton highlighted Bermuda's manicured golf courses, beaches and stunning views, filming at such venues as Warwick Long Bay and the Mid Ocean Golf Course.

In this latest advert, the BDOT is evolving the campaign to give consumers a broader feel for Bermuda's unique charm and character.

Among the highlights in the new commercial include the unfinished church in St. George's and the recently completed Newstead hotel.

The finished product will air in key visitor markets such as Washington DC, Boston, New York and Philadelphia this fall.

Mr. Burton is an acclaimed actor, director and author who first came to prominence playing Kunta Kinte in the 1977 award winning television miniseries Alex Haley's 'Roots'.

His other passion is educating children. He created, hosted and executively produced the popular PBS children's programme 'Reading Rainbow'.
