Library on charities launched
The Centre on Philanthropy has opened Bermuda's only public library of resource materials for the non-profit sector thanks to a grant from the Bank of Bermuda Foundation.
The Third Sector Resource Centre officially opened on Monday and features books, magazines and newspapers. The materials focus on fund-raising, governance, volunteer management, financial management and strategic grant-making.
The mission of the Resource Centre is to collect, organise and share information on best practices for Third Sector stakeholders. The Centre contains three sections: books and periodicals; a computer station with access to member sites, and a media collection of DVDs and CDs and a viewing station.
The goals are to advance knowledge, skills and performance in the sector, to provide a comprehensive source of information for members of the sector, to allow stakeholders free access to member organisations and websites and to have space available for small group meetings.
