A Smith's parish man was banned from the road for a year after pleading guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving while impaired.
On June 19, Police saw Alan Chalton riding a motorcycle South on King Street just before 11 p.m.
The officers noticed the 35-year-old appeared to be having difficulty controlling the bike, and pulled him over.
Chalton had difficulty putting the bike on its stand.
When asked if he had been drinking, he told Police: "Yes sir. I was told it was all right to do."
Yesterday, Chalton said that he was "totally embarrassed by the situation," and assured the court that it wouldn't happen again.
Magistrate Khamisi Tukunbo fined him $800 and issued ten demerit points in addition to the driving ban.
