Meeting on City future tomorrow
public meeting.
Last year the Corporation of Hamilton announced it was updating the City Plan, which guides development within the boundaries.
Tomorrow the Corporation and the Planning Department will join forces to stage the public meeting to give people a chance to air their views.
"The Corporation and the Planning Department are working closely together to create a new City Plan and we are seeking input and ideas from as wide a cross-section of the public as possible.
"We've already held meetings with about a dozen special groups and this meeting is designed to give everyone an opportunity to have a say in how the City can best be improved and developed before the new Plan is written,'' said Corporation secretary Roger Sherratt.
He said a number of issues have already been raised including development in the north and east of the city, how to improve the waterfront, pedestrianisation, traffic flow and the boundaries.
The meeting is due to take place at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday at Cathedral Hall.
