Scholarship winner Stephanie Gibson (centre) poses with Bermuda Junior Service League members.

Stephanie Gibson has been named the winner of this years C. Vail Zuill scholarship by the Bermuda Junior Service League.

The annual award, named after the BJSL founder, puts $5,000 towards the Mount Saint Agnes graduate's education at Emory University, where she intends to major in Journalism.

"We had an amazing group of applicants this year, and we are pleased to reward Stephanie with this year's scholarship," said scholarship committee chair Amy Adderly. "Stephanie is an outstanding young lady."

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of not only academic work and financial need, but also character, leadership qualities and commitment to civic and community service. Potential applicants for next year's scholarship can find information at the league's website, www.bjsl.bm.

"The league wishes Stephanie all the best as she begins her studies at Emory," said Mrs. Adderly.
