A woman lost her handbag to a thief she discovered in her bedroom in the early morning hours.

According to Police, the Ridgeway Road, Pembroke resident said she was sitting in her living room watching television at 12.30 a.m. on Monday, when she heard noises coming from her bedroom.

She went to investigate and discovered an unknown man, who managed to grab her purse before escaping.

The purse contained a quantity of cash and personal items.

The suspect is described as dark skinned, approximately 6ft 1in. He is said to be of slim build with a short haircut. At the time of the incident he was wearing a tan-coloured jacket and blue jeans.
