The complainant said the church, on North Shore Road, was left secured on Sunday night, and that she returned to the church the following morning to find signs of a break-in.

Further inquiries revealed that a door to an office inside had been entered by force, and the cash stolen from a briefcase.

Police are also investigating the theft of power tools from a residence on Long Ridge Pass in Devonshire. The resident noticed the theft on Monday evening and contacted Police.

Among the tools taken were a Dewalt saw and drill with assorted bits, and a Makita chipping hammer.
