Premier honoured by his Jamaica high school
Premier Ewart Brown was honoured for his achievements in health care and politics by his former high school in Jamaica.
St. Jago High School in Kingston, awarded Dr. Brown at the Pegasus Hotel in front of more than 600 people along with Beijing Olympian, Melanie Walker, for her gold medal win in the women's 400 metre hurdles.
Dr. Brown attended St. Jago from 1959 to 1964 and joined an exclusive list of accomplished alumni. He was honoured with two other graduates this past weekend.
On his award, Dr. Brown said: "It was a thrill to be recognised in this way. I consider my time of learning in Jamaica to be one of the most pivotal periods of my younger years, and this was truly a very humbling experience for me."
The Premier was recognised by Howard University last March for his community, political and health care achievements.
