Put a price on your home's contents
An insurance company is planning to use a game show inspired competition to teach homeowners about contents insurance.
Visitors to tomorrow's Coldwell Banker Home Show are being encouraged to take part in a 'Price-is-Right' type competition at the Argus Group's booths 25 and 26. The game is aimed at educating people on the true value of the contents of their home.
The company has developed a guide to help people break down the contents of people's home, room-by-room and piece-by-piece. It helps to assess the number of valuables people own and the correct amount of contents insurance needed.
Advertising and Event Manager for the Argus Group, Maria McLeod-Smith said: "We will offer insight on insuring the contents of your home in a fun and educational way.
"People will have to guess how much it would cost to replace their furnishings and determine how much contents insurance they should purchase. People are not always aware of the true value of what's inside their home."
"People often underestimate the value of their belongings by thousands of dollars. When you add up every television, stereo and chair in your home, their true financial worth may surprise you."
The Coldwell Banker Home Show will be held at CedarBridge Academy tomorrow.
