Radio show host is seeking help to make Christmas special for others

Miss Thang (Kristy Burgess)

A Bermuda radio show host is working to help families and children in need this holiday season and is appealing for help from the public.

Kristy Burgess a.k.a. “Miss Thang” from Hott 107.5 FM has released a Christmas Wish List in an effort to bring joy to 70 deserving people.

Ms Burgess has circulated a mass e-mail encouraging people to give to a child, adult or senior within the next two weeks. Toys, gift certificates, clothing, food vouchers even things that have been used will be welcomed.

“Christmas is right around the corner and there are a lot of families and children in need this year. I have decided again this year to help Santa’s ever-growing list by providing for over 70 recipients.

“These children and adults were nominated on my show at Hott 107.5 by listeners that are aware of their family’s situation.

“I am requesting assistance in making these children happy for the festive season. The options for contributing are through donating gift certificates, toys, clothing, food vouchers or something new or used.”

Ms Burgess asks residents to send an e-mail with their choice of donation, detailing if it’s suitable for a child, adult or senior citizen, by December 17.

All items need to be delivered to Hott 107.5 by December 20. Gifts will be handed out as part of a live radio show at 3pm on Christmas Eve.

Ms Burgess said: “I would like to take this moment and simply say thank you for allowing me to make a difference in the lives of many over the past few years.”
