following a Christmas attack on a woman in Hamilton.

Paul Williams, of East Shore Road, is accused of attacking and robbing Dawn O'Donohue, 26, of Southampton, on Christmas Day.

English waitress O'Donohue was allegedly assaulted in Between The Walls, a road off Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. She was taken to hospital and needed surgery on a broken jaw.

Williams was charged with robbing O'Donohue of a purse containing $50, a bottle of jellybeans and a bottle of wine, with intent to wound, wounding and grievous bodily harm.

He was also charged with possessing a three foot long metal pipe, an unlawful weapon, and possession of a pipe intended for use with a controlled drug.

Williams was taken to Magistrates' Court yesterday by plain clothes Policemen.

He did not speak while the charges were read to him by Acting Senior Magistrate, the Wor. John Judge.

He was remanded in custody until Tuesday, January 12.
