Sandys man charged with drug importation

A Sandys man was in Magistrates' Court charged with importing more than $180,000 worth of drugs.Marco Perinchief, 36, was faced with four charges of importing 491.49 grams of cocaine with a street value of $90,250 and 898.9 grams of cannabis having a street value of $89,850, into the Island on April 1.Perinchief was not required to enter a plea as the offence is indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court.

The Broom Street resident was awarded bail in the amount of $25,000 plus one surety and ordered to return to court on June 11.
