Segway in crash

A Segway rider was stuck by an out of control bike rider at Ordnance Island on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old St. George's man was left with a pain in his foot and a headache when his Segway was struck by an unknown auxiliary cycle rider who lost control of his cycle and collided with him at 4.15 p.m.

The cycle and rider then struck two parked taxis. The rider fled the scene on foot and escaped, despite being chased by a member of the public.

The auxiliary cycle, taxis and the 'Segway' received moderate damage.

Missing teenager

Police are searching for 17-year-old Chantice Butterfield, who has been missing since Tuesday. She was last seen at 8.30 a.m. and is described as medium brown skinned, 5ft 5ins tall, weighing 180 lbs with brown hair and eyes.

She is known to frequent the Middletown, Court Street and King Street and Pembroke areas. Anyone with any information should call the Child Victims Unit on 295-0011.
