Marine Police, firefighters and local sailors went to the rescue of a sports fishing boat that started sinking off Spanish Point yesterday.
The 52-foot local vessel Nomad reported it was taking on water at 7.50 p.m, prompting Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre to put out a mayday call over the radio.
Staff also contacted the Marine Police, who sent their rescue boat Heron 2 to the scene. The Police initially provided one pump, with further pumps later provided by the fire service.
The power boat Beats Working also went to assist Nomad, which was able to make it safely to Mills Creek, where she was lifted out of the water. The incident was resolved by 9.p.m with no injury to anyone involved.
