Police say they do not believe six armed home invasions in the last five months are linked.

As The Royal Gazette reported on Thursday, the latest incident saw two women and a man threatened at a Sylvan Dell Road, Paget, home in the early hours of Wednesday.

The occupants of the home a 42-year-old woman and 20-year-old man from Paget and a 30-year-old woman from Pembroke were not hurt and the raiders made off. The Police press release on the incident did not report anything stolen.

The home invasion was the sixth since August where the offenders have brandished guns or imitation guns. A total of three have been in Paget, two in Devonshire and one in Smith's.

Asked if they are being treated as related crimes, a Police spokesman said: "All incidents mentioned are currently under active investigation; however at this time there is nothing to suggest that any of these incidents are linked."

Meanwhile Governor Sir Richard Gozney condemned the latest act of violence, saying: "I deplore any burglary, but I deplore especially burglaries with violence or the threat of violence wherever they happen in Bermuda.

"So do the Bermuda Police Service. So the Police are making a priority of their investigation of crimes in which guns or fake guns are brandished. Once again I urge anyone with any relevant information, however slight, to contact the Police on 295-0011 or to telephone the confidential Crime Stoppers hot line on 800-8477."

The armed man involved in the Sylvan Dell incident is described as a light brown skinned male in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 7in tall wearing a red scarf and a hooded top or a hat.
