Police said the man was arrested and taken into custody yesterday morning.

The two female victims told Police that a man had sexually assaulted each of them at knife point and held them captive in a car as he drove around the Island until one of them was able to escape.

The two women are friends and the alleged nightmare for them reportedly began when the assailant broke into the Smith's Parish home of one of them, held her at knife point, and seriously sexually assaulted her.

Police said the other woman was visiting her friend and saw the man leaving.

"On seeing her,'' the Police spokesperson said, "the man returned taking both women in her car. They were driven around, and at one point forced to withdraw money from an ATM machine.

"The culprit then drove the female owner of the car back to Smith's, where she was sexually assaulted at knife point. She was taken to Court Street where she managed to escape and contact Police.''
