Smith's man charged with conspiracy to murder...

Cervio Cox leaves Magistrates Court yesterday after with being charged with consperiency to commit murder and fire arm posession.

A 25-year-old Smith's man appeared in Magistrates' Court in connection with last weekend's shootings.

The courtroom was cleared before the charges were put to 25-year-old Cervio Cox for the offences.

Cox was charged with conspiring with persons unknown to murder teenager J'Dun Thompson.

He was also charged with possession of a firearm to commit the murder of Mr. Thompson.

The father of a 15-month-old child he remained cuffed throughout the entire hearing.

Ten Police officers in uniform and plain clothes were present in the courtroom.

Cox, of Clarendon Road, was remanded into custody until June 11.

He was represented by Llewellyn Penniston. The prosecutor was Crown counsel Takiyah Burgess.

While in an unrelated case, another is charged with attempted murder A 41-year-old man appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday, charged with attempted murder.

Thisley Dawson was charged with two counts of entering a Beacon Hill Road, Sandys residence with intent to murder Gregory Campbell, and trespassing.

Dawson was not required to enter a plea as his case is indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court in front of a jury. He was awarded bail in the amount of $10,000 plus one surety. Dawson was ordered to surrender his passport, stay away from the Beacon Hill residence and not to interfere with Campbell.

He is to reappear in Magistrates' Court on June 11.
