Trial for man accused of sexually exploiting girl
A 50-year-old Sandys man will face trial on September 7 after pleading not guilty to three charges of sexually exploiting a minor.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of touching the genitals of a girl from a date unknown to March 24 to April 4, 2008.
He is also accused, between those same dates, of touching the girl with his genitals and between March 24, 2008, and April 4, 2008, of touching the girl's private parts.
He was bailed on $30,000 with one surety.
Also in yesterday's arraignment top golfer Jarryd Dillas pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to Chauncey Durham while under the influence of alcohol on August 16, 2007.
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving while impaired on the same date in Harbour Road, Warwick the Crown ordered that charge should lie on file.
Dillas' lawyer Llewleyn Peniston pushed for a trial date to be arranged at the August arraignment after explaining that Dillas was away from June 24 to July 5 representing Bermuda in a golf tournament.
Chief Justice Richard Ground ordered a Social Inquiry Report and ordered Dillas to reappear on August 3.

Kenry Trevor Thorpe, 21, of Friswells Road, Pembroke, Manai Iman Roberts, 20, of Hill Top Drive, Hamilton Parish and Dimitri Aaron Tucker, 22, of Middle Terrace, Pembroke will reappear for mention on July 1.
Also reappearing then are two men who pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and having a bladed article on November 15, last year.
Jamel Evans, 37, of Spring Benny Road, Sandys, and Bryce Leanard Place, 37, of Khyber Heights Lane, were both bailed to reappear at next month's arraignment session.
