A total of 25 road accidents left motorists injured during the week beginning August 25.

The figure was one accident up on the previous week, but two less than the week before that.

There were an additional 36 accidents where the only damage was to the vehicles involved.

Four people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving over the course of the week and 22 vehicles were stolen.

The majority were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, but one car, one van, one rental cycle and two pedal cycles were also stolen.

Four of the vehicles have since been recovered, including the car and the van.
