Two hurt as bike hits wall
A Smith's Parish man was last night in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial after the bike he and a friend were on collided with a wall.
The 49-year-old fractured both legs and sustained injuries to his face after the bike in the accident, which took place on Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke, near the junction with North Shore Road.
His friend, a 31-year-old Pembroke man, sustained lacerations to his left hand and foot.
Police attended the scene of the accident around 9.40 p.m. Yesterday officers were unsure who was in control of the motorcycle when the collision occurred.
Both men were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The 31-year-old was later released. Last night, the 49-year-old remained in stable condition in ICU.
Inquiries into the incident are underway. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC Shem Obeius on 295- 0011.
