Would-be robbers flee after boy's big brother shows up
Four young men attempted to rob a nine-year-old boy, but were stopped when his older brother appeared.
At 6.40 p.m. on Thursday, Police attended the reported incident on Woodlands Road, in Pembroke. They spoke to the Devonshire boy who said he was approached by four unknown men who demanded personal items from him.
When he told the suspects he didn't have anything, his 18-year-old brother came and intervened.
The suspects then left the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, the four men went over to the boy to rob him.
When he tried to protect himself, the incident looked like it would turn violent. Apparently one of the men had a thick chain and a knife.
Officers at the scene would only say no-one was injured and the victim didn't want to press charges or file a complaint.
