A fortnight of gun violence
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31:
A man is shot in Glebe Road, Pembroke, shortly before 4 p.m. as children play nearby.
Jah-Lario Samuels-Dill, 21, is hit in the chest. He runs into a nearby house yelling: "Help me, I've been shot" before collapsing on the floor. Mr. Samuels-Dill undergoes surgery and is released from King Edward VII Memorial Hospital two days later. Two men from Pembroke, aged 29 and 30, are arrested.
Detectives say the incident is gang-related.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7:
Two men are shot in the Rubber Tree area of Middletown at 6 p.m.
A 24-year-old Pembroke man and a 31-year-old Devonshire man are injured. Sources say one man is shot three times in the arm and hand while the other is shot three times in the chest.
The shootings are said to have taken place in King Street and Middletown Lane, Pembroke.
Acting Chief Inspector Calvin Smith confirms the incident is gang-related and says a semi-automatic weapon was used.
Police arrest a 26-year-old man from Pembroke in connection with the incident.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13:
A couple are gunned down as they leave Southside Cinema, St. David's, at 11.30 p.m.
Shaki Minors, 26, from Pembroke, and Renee Kuchler, 24, from Warwick, are admitted to the intensive care unit at KEMH, where their condition was last night described as "stable".
Police are expected to release more details on the incident later today.
Detectives arrest a 28-year-old man from Pembroke and an 18-year-old from Devonshire. A firearm is also seized in connection with the incident.
