Biker crashes through windscreen, then rides away

A motorcyclist was thrown onto the windscreen of a car in a crash in Hamilton Parish.The accident happened at around 3.50 p.m. on Tuesday on North Shore Road, near the junction with Jennings Road, as a motorcyclist overtook a car heading east and collided with a vehicle heading in the opposite direction.A Police spokesman said: "As a result, the motorcycle collided head-on into the westbound car, causing the rider to be ejected from the cycle into the car's front windscreen.

The accident happened at around 3.50 p.m. on Tuesday on North Shore Road, near the junction with Jennings Road, as a motorcyclist overtook a car heading east and collided with a vehicle heading in the opposite direction.

A Police spokesman said: "As a result, the motorcycle collided head-on into the westbound car, causing the rider to be ejected from the cycle into the car's front windscreen.

"The motorcyclist sustained head injuries. However, he quickly got back on to the motorcycle and rode off, leaving the cycle's basket behind."

The motorcyclist is believed to be a 44-year-old man from Smith's. The driver of the car, a 40-year-old Sandys man, was uninjured but the vehicle's front bumper, hood and windscreen were damaged.

The spokesman said: "Inquiries into this incident are underway."
