A 21-year-old was arrested last night in connection with the murder of Raymond "Yankee" Rawlins and the shooting of Prince Edness.

Police reported this evening that the Pembroke resident was arrested at L.F. Wade International Airport as he attempted to leave the Island.

A spokesman said: "A 21-year-old Pembroke man was arrested at the L.F. Wade International Airport by detectives from the Serious Crime Unit at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 11 August in connection with the murder of Raymond Rawlins during the early morning hours of Monday, August 9 and the attempted murder of Prince Edness during the early morning hours of Friday, August 6.

"The Pembroke man was apprehended in the departure area after checking in for a departing flight. He remains in Police custody while enquiries continue."
