A young man was shot on Tribe Road No. 5 in Paget around 3.20 p.m. today.

The Royal Gazette understands shots rang out in Ord Road, in the vicinity of Paget Primary School, and the man was hit in the leg.

The area is currently cordoned off.

Police are now alerting the public that stop-and-search measures will be in effect in the West End as they try and apprehend those involved in today’s shooting.

In particular, they are advising the motoring public there will be significant delays near the Whale Bay area and in Southampton and Somerset.
