Cabbie dies after collapsing at work on Sunday

A taxi driver died after stepping out of his vehicle to use the bathroom while the passenger waited.

Police say the 54-year-old Sandys man had stopped off at Number One Shed, Hamilton, on Sunday afternoon.

The passenger grew concerned after waiting for some time and went into the shed to discover the driver in a collapsed state.

He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4.50 p.m.
