Drunk man, 60, swore at Police
A St. George's man admitted yelling obscenities at Police officers while drunk.
Leroy Allan Bean was charged with using offensive words in a public place yesterday in Magistrates' Court.
Crown counsel Cindy Clarke said officers were on York Street in St. George arresting a man for drinking in public at 8.07 p.m. on August 5.
Moments later, Bean came up to the officers and said: "Leave the man alone. He was just drinking a beer."
Officers told Bean the situation wasn't of his concern, but he then said: "F**k you boy. F**k off and leave the man alone. We are Bermudians."
Ms Clarke said the 60-year-old continued to curse at the officers. He was arrested and taken into Police custody.
Bean said yesterday: "I would like to apologise to the court. I did apologise to the officers. I was intoxicated at the time."
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him $800.
