A Police car collided with a bus yesterday evening, causing extensive damage to the Police vehicle but no injuries.

Witnesses, who did not want to be named, claimed the Police vehicle had its lights flashing and ran a red light when the two collided. Police would not comment on queries into the incident but did release a statement.

"It appears that a Police car was travelling along Dundonald Street and a bus was travelling along Cedar Avenue when the vehicles collided at the junction," the Police report stated.

"The Police vehicle received extensive front end damage while the bus received relatively minor rear end damage. There were no reported injuries. Inquiries are underway."
