Martin Hatfield has been working in the garment business for decades in the early 1980s he designed many of the popular tee shirts for Tucker's Tees and was later responsible for designing the popular clothing brand for Gosling's Black Seal Rum.

Now he is selling the successful brand of clothing and accessories that he created for the Spirit of Bermuda and the Bermuda Sloop Foundation through a space on Front Street, donated for a short period over the holidays by Frank Arnold, of Arnold's Market.

According to Mr. Hatfield, the entire line of Spirit of Bermuda inspired clothing and accessories will be available at the Bermuda Sloop Foundation's office at Victoria Place, on Victoria Street, in Hamilton, soon. The office located on the bottom floor of the courtyard next to Latin restaurant.

Having designed all of the clothing, bags, hats and everything in between for the Spirit of Bermuda, a registered charity, he said he realised how much he enjoyed giving back to the community.

"I am obviously not into this for the money," he said. I do it because I love to create and design."

And his new company, Bermudia, will also give back to the community. "My company will support charities through branded merchandise.

"We will also offer custom clothing and other products to companies and corporate clients with five percent of all sales going to the charity of their choosing."

Mr. Hatfield currently has three lines of products for charities including the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, The Maritime Museum and a line of palm tree-themed products for the Bermuda National Trust, available at the Trustworthy Shop.
