Government joins Greenrock in March 28 'lights out hour'

Andrew Vaucrossen president of Greenrock.org flanked by Premeir Ewart Brown and Minister Glenn Blakeney discussed plans today for 'Earth Hour' an event which for one hour Bermudians would all turn off unneccesary electronic items to showcase our capability as a country, to minimise our contribution to global warming.

Government and environment group Greenrock came together yesterday to urge the public to support Earth Hour.

Bermuda will join 62 countries around the world in getting people to turn off lights for one hour in a demonstration of commitment to slowing climate change.

Premier Ewart Brown said the Environment and Energy Ministries were coordinating Government's efforts for the March 28 event.

And Environment Minister Glenn Blakeney said people could save money and help save the planet by reducing their energy consumption.
