Ill woman taken off cruise ship

An elderly American woman was evacuated from a Bermuda-bound cruise ship 50 miles south of New York city after complaining of chest pains early on Sunday.

According to US Coast Guard officials, Rose Bonner, 75, from Westhampton in New York state, was taken off the Norwegian Dawn around 12.15 a.m.

She was brought by an emergency Coast Guard boat to Station Sandy Hook, in New Jersey, around 1.23 a.m and was in a stable condition when she arrived.
