A Government computer error resulted in some seniors missing out on their pension payments this weekend.

Bank of Bermuda account holders did not receive their monthly pension on Friday but can expect to be paid today.

A Government spokeswoman said: "The Department of Social Insurance (DOSI) has apologised to all seniors who did not receive their Government pension cheques."

She said the problem was due to "an unfortunate internal computer malfunction", which has now been rectified.

"The Department has reassured all affected seniors that their pension cheques will be posted in their accounts on Monday," said the spokeswoman.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
