A patient at the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute (MWI) was yesterday charged with committing a sexual assault. Appearing in Magistrates' Court, the defendant pleaded not guilty to a single charge of sexual assault, which is alleged to have happened in Devonshire, on Saturday.

Magistrate Juan Wolffe released the defendant on $5,000 bail with a surety of the same amount, under the condition that he has no contact with the complainant.

He is expected to return to Magistrates' Court for trial on December 29. During arguments, Crown counsel Cindy Clarke said the defendant is a patient at the MWI.
