Man swore at Police as he was ejected from bar
A man started using offensive words towards Police after being told to leave a bar, a court heard yesterday.
Magistrates' Court was told that Vincent Outerbridge, 35, of Redklin Road, Hamilton Parish, was in a bar on Queen Street, in Hamilton, on February 27, when Police were called.
Deputy director of Public Prosecutions, Michael McColm said Outerbridge had refused to leave when asked by the bar's duty manager and had become abusive. He said officers saw he was intoxicated and when he refused to leave was "forcibly escorted from the establishment".
Mr. McColm added: "He became abusive towards the officers, shouting foul language at them. Police warned him to stop, but he continued to behave in an offensive manner."
Outerbridge was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police station.
Yesterday he pleaded guilty to using offensive words and was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner.
