Mike Jackman promoted to Assistant Commissioner
Superintendent Mike Jackman of the Bermuda Police Service has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Community Policing Services, effective yesterday.
Ass. Comm. Jackman came to Bermuda in 1982 and has worked in many ares of policing including traffic, Community and Juvenile Services, the Central & Western Parish Constable Units and also chaired the Bermuda Police Association from 1996-1999.
He was promoted to Chief Inspector in 2004 and was named the head of the Recruiting and Training Department. In 2006, he was promoted to Superintendent and named the head of the Narcotics Division where he oversaw the investigation of drug offences working closely with officers in the Caribbean and the US.
Ass. Comm. Jackman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Policing and Police Studies from the University of Portsmouth and is currently enrolled in a Master of Science programme in Police Science and Management.
