Poem for Rhiana
My old friend — but still way too young to depart
I thought of you today — the time we spent together as friends
I remember that summer when 50 Cent was the jam.
Our laughter, our arguments, our play
We were ten years old then, you, me and our crew at West Pembroke School.
Today I heard that you were gone — how sad, my tears could not express my pain
Your life was taken far too soon, but Rhiana, your memory they can never remove
For I am so glad for the time I spent with you.
As I wipe my tears, I look at the pictures of you; I bow my head and pray,
For I can only imagine your family's pain
Goodbye my old friend — Sleep well.
On my heart your smile and your essence is forever engraved.
Rest in Peace Rhiana Moore, I love you.
