Seven Police officers get new promotions
Seven Police officers have been promoted to Sergeants and Inspectors.
They include Clifford Roberts, Lawrence 'Larry' Dean, Sharnita Tankard, Roger Saints and Narase Samaroo to Sergeants.
Sgt. Roberts is currently attached to the Communications and Operations unit (COMOPS). He joined the Bermuda Police Service in 1986 as a Cadet and received the Baton of Honour.
He has also served as a Parish Constable and in the Cycle Squad, Traffic Division and Narcotics.
Sgt. Dean has been a serving officer for 25 years, working predominantly in the Police Marine Unit and Explosive Ordinance.
Sgt. Tankard has been in the Service for 21 years. She has worked in Uniform Patrol, as a western Parish Constable, in PSU and is currently stationed in the Child Victims Unit.
Sgt. Saints has been an officer for ten years and has worked in the Central Uniform, PSU and Narcotics units. He is currently in the K-9 unit.
Sgt. Samaroo joined the Trinidad and Tobago Police in 1998 and relocated to Bermuda in 2003. He has been working in the western Criminal Investigation Unit.
Mr. Jackson also announced the promotion of Peter Charlemagne and Markland Telemaque, to Inspectors.
Insp. Charlemagne is from St. Lucia and served in the Royal St. Lucia Police Force for 13 years. In Bermuda, he has worked in PSU, roads, policing and operational policing.
He is currently in charge of the Child Victims Unit.
Insp. Telemaque is from Jamaica where he served as an officer for eight years. Since arriving in Bermuda in 2000, he has worked in narcotics on several high profile cases and in the Central Uniform Division.
